About the Film
Originally made as a short film, the feature film follows Emmylou, a woman recently released from jail, as she struggles to reconnect with her family and community. It’s an intimate, emotionally layered drama about betrayal, reintegration, and sisterhood. The Danish-American and Spanish duo, Phoebe Post and Laura Abellán, bonded over their love of powerful character-driven stories. Dedicated to bringing a candid image of women to the big screen, Laura and Phoebe specialize in telling stories of every day people who persist under the weight of complex relationships and societal pressures. They have worked across both Europe and the U.S. and been awarded at numerous film festivals.
